Dr. Rodolfo Alvarado is an award-winning playwright, performer, author, and historian whose work brings overlooked stories to life through theatre. His plays have been presented across the United States, featured at the American College Theatre Festival, and invited to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His writing has received recognition in theatre, film, podcasting, and literature, including national book honors, screenplay awards, and the United Solo Award for Best Biographical Solo Show.
As an actor, Alvarado has performed leading roles including Che in Evita and appearances in The Indian Wants the Bronx, True West, The Woolgatherer, and God’s Country.
He is also the author of Brown Son of Lorca: A Boy Reclaimed in Poems, Stories & Voice, a memoir in poems, stories, and performance pieces that debuted in New York City in 2025. His forthcoming book revisits the life and career of champion jockey Garrett Gomez through newly developed material and the extensive interview archive that informed his earlier biography.
Created in collaboration with the Acevedo family, Undesirable Secrets represents nearly a decade of historical research into the life of Anthony C. Acevedo. Following performances across the country and acclaimed New York engagements at Theatre for the New City and Theatre Row, where it received the United Solo Award for Best Biographical Solo Show, the production returns to New York for an extended Off-Broadway engagement at the Actors Temple Theatre in 2027.

Dr. William M. Doll is Professor Emeritus of Theatre at Angelo State University and serves as director and production consultant for Undesirable Secrets. A respected educator, director, playwright, and dramaturg, he holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts/Theatre from Texas Tech University and an M.A. in Drama from Texas Woman’s University.
Throughout a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, Dr. Doll has directed and developed new plays, musicals, and classical works while mentoring generations of theatre artists. His contributions to theatre education were recognized with the Educator of the Year Award from the Texas Educational Theatre Association.
As director of Undesirable Secrets, Dr. Doll has guided the production from its earliest workshops through its award-winning Off-Broadway presentation, helping shape the play into a powerful theatrical experience that honors Anthony Acevedo’s extraordinary story while preparing it for its extended New York engagement.

Cindy Teniente is a New York–based Mexican American actress and U.S. Army veteran committed to telling complex human stories. A graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, her credits include Decision Height, The Winter’s Tale, August: Osage County, and a lead role in the short film Sierra.
Her military service included Airborne School and a deployment to Afghanistan—experiences that inform the honesty and resilience she brings to her work. As Veteran Outreach Advisor & Conversation Host for Undesirable Secrets, Teniente draws upon her unique perspective as both an actress and veteran to guide the production’s Zoom and Sunday conversations about war, trauma, memory, prejudice, and theatre’s power to foster understanding.
